About Us
'Home from Home' would probably best describe this property: the owners are Lorenzo and Catriona Miceli from Tuscany, Italy, with their three grown up children Camilla, Tom and Anna.
A taste of their organic Chianti Classico wine at Pump Cottage is a must!
Our Story
The Miceli's are an Anglo-Italian family living in Tuscany, where they make wine and run holiday lets ("agriturismo"). It is also where their three children were born and grew up. Sadly Catriona's English family all passed away, and so it became important to keep ties with England and give the children opportunities to study in the UK as well as in Italy. It was with this in mind that they began house-hunting in the region where Catriona grew up.
When they saw Pump Cottage in 2013, they literally looked no further - it was the house for them. The location was fundamental - within reach of Bristol and London airports, within reach of the coast, surrounded by glorious landscapes then the bonus of being in a town and walk to the centre - by way of the famous Gold Hill to boot - and yet be in a pretty village enclosure. Perfect.
The visual charm of the outside was indisputable; and then a series of mini surprises of spaces and features that strike you, one after another, as you as you meander through inside, finishing with the glorious sunroom and garden. A bit of absolutely everything!
Ever since, and still living in Tuscany, it has been their pied-a-terre, their secret home, their family reunion. Bliss.
Grade II Listed buildings are notoriously high maintenance. Catriona and Lorenzo have since renewed important features, upgraded existing ones making sure that the house is always fit for purpose - holiday lets has become a side business for Catriona and she takes pride in making sure that her guests can enjoy the property just as she and her family do - they will not be disappointed.
